Dr. Oliver’s Veterinary Services Ltd. is a mobile vet serving dogs and cats throughout Salt Spring Island, the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, Duncan, and the surrounding areas.
At Dr. Oliver’s Veterinary Services Ltd., we strive to provide a complete range of mobile services for our patients. In some instances, though, we simply are not equipped to provide the care a pet needs. In these instances, we refer patients to other facilities. We refer all emergencies and sometimes will refer for a second opinion.
Why We Make Referrals
Due to the layout and mobile nature of our clinic, we are not equipped to deal with most emergencies. Additionally, we do not have the facilities to hospitalize patients, aside from those who are scheduled for surgical procedures. We have limited clinic space and thus only have room to house surgical patients.
As a mobile clinic, we are not equipped for orthopedic or advanced soft tissue surgeries. Therefore, we must refer patients to other facilities for these procedures. Please note that we may refer your pet to another trusted vet for other reasons, as well. We refer any case where we feel a referral is in the best interest of the patient. We want to ensure the best possible outcome for your beloved companion and will work with you to help you get the care they need - even if we are unable to provide it ourselves.
